Buyer — Salary Negotiable Depending on Experience
We require an enthusiastic Buyer to work alongside our existing Senior Buyer to develop, promote suppliers and implement best practice. You will be responsible for the buying activity for specific commodities, for on time delivery at the best price and quality for our competitive market
Core Duties will include:
- Purchasing electronic and related components, finished goods and consumables from the UK and abroad
- Developing supplier and internal customers relationships
- Acknowledging and progressing orders, reconciling invoices
- Resolving issues of non-conforming goods
- Using documentation and stock systems with Microsoft programs (Excel and Word)
The ideal Candidate will:
- Have experience within purchasing, ideally electronics or a similar engineering/manufacturing industry
- Have good written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Be a personable and firm negotiator
- Have a positive flexible attitude with ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Knowledege and Skills required:
- Proficient documentation skills and ability to use stock systems with Microsoft programs (Excel and Word)
- Have ‘A’ level or equivalent qualifications
- Have CIPS or working towards this qualification to develop a buying career
